Spiral Pendant
The Spiral has been used by diverse cultures for decorative and religious purposes since prehistory. It is also a common motif in Blacksmithing, where it is referred to as a Scroll.
There are many kinds of scrolls, and as many types of tools and jigs to help create perfect scrolls with minimal fuss. Such tools are indispensable for large jobs with repeating elements that must match exactly. However, to eschew these aids and forge a tapering spiral by hammer & hand is a true delight. It is the Blacksmith's Enso. It represents a moment of clarity and focus, striving towards (but never achieving) perfection.
These are forged of stainless steel, blackened in the forging process and wire brushed to a dull luster.
These pieces have a slight variety to them, but the photo shows the range of variety to expect. About 1" to 1.15" in diameter. Available on either a leather or hemp cord.
